But Rebeca said that not 3 minutes later, after she got into the shower, he started getting upset and fussing - wondering where she had gone.

2 months old

Little Scotty is two months old today.  Wow, it's hard to believe.

Today we figured out, that with my ipod touch, we can Facetime with Rebeca.  So, we did that today for the very first time.  It was WONDERFUL.  We got to talk to Scotty, and we sang to him.  We got to hear him coo and make precious sounds and we got to see him smile.  We got to see him look in the direction of Rebeca's phone (where we were) and look interested, yet puzzled about those people's voices and how and why they were coming from that box.  It would be nice to have a bigger screen because that ipod's screen is really small so an ipad or ipad mini may be in our future!

And this picture was taken yesterday.  Again, it's how he likes to sleep in Rebeca's arms.

And Guillermo's shed is getting closer to being finished.  What it needs now is a door, and finishing touches added to the inside.  But the outside is all done.

It's a little cool in Tucson right now, so Scotty had to be all covered up during their walk in the park.

Fun with Daddy

Jason was taking care of Scotty while she was at a doctor appointment.  Here he is looking at some Valentine's balloons that Jason is holding.  Looks like he wants to hold one, too!

Oops, no shed pictures.  For sure, tomorrow.  Guillermo was putting primer on the shed today.

And tomorrow I'll post some pictures of the roof with its entire roof finished.  No more struggling with covering it with a tarp - which Guillermo did one last time last night.  They had predicted foggy drizzle for this morning and that made Guillermo have to cover up the last few little spaces that weren't finished.  But at least he could now use a much smaller tarp rather than that monstrosity of a tarp that we seemed to always have to work with in strong winds.

This is Scotty dreaming of being in the park again like he was yesterday.

Here is a picture of when he was in the park yesterday - on a "date" with the daughter of one of Rebeca's friends.  Scotty is 7 weeks old and the other baby is close to a year old.

But the best part about this post are these two videos.  Especially the last one.  The sound he makes towards the end of the last video just melts our hearts.

And this is where Guillermo is with the shed in the back yard.  He's putting the shingles on the roof and doing quite a good job!  Perhaps he missed his calling? ;-)

Happy Valentine's Day

We didn't do all that much special today.  Guillermo left this morning and I had no idea he was gone until I saw the truck pulling into the driveway!  I thought he was back in his "Man Cave" catching up on the news on his computer like he usually is every morning until we have breakfast!  But he had slipped out to buy something special for breakfast and a bouquet of pretty flowers.  It was a nice surprise!

Just as special was getting two pictures from Rebeca today.
This first one is Scotty sitting on Jason's lap and Scotty is craning his neck to see the Valentine Heart pillow that we sent him which is hanging from the lamp.

And the second picture is him looking all proud in his Barracuda outfit.  Rebeca says he smiles a lot now!

Our weather is warm again!

The warmer weather is so much more pleasant.  Guillermo has been able to work on the shed without having to cover it up, although we do wish we would get a good rain.  But hopefully he can finish that shed before any rains might come.

Here are a few pictures of dear Scotty.  Rebeca and Jason have been kind of gearing up because in a little over two weeks, Rebeca has to go back to work.  She says that it's going to be terrible to have to leave Scotty but it has to be done.  At least he'll be staying at home though with Jason and that's a comfort for her.  So, they've been working on getting Scotty to take a bottle at least once a day.  So far, he has been open to that option!

Well, we enjoyed the last two days of nice warm weather.  Another cold front is going to hit tomorrow morning but at least this time the cold is just going to stick around for two days and then we're supposed to have about a week of nice warmer weather.

Just have to get through today

And then tomorrow it's supposed to warm up.  To about 64, which is WAY better than it's been the last few days.  Today the high got to 35.  It drizzled a little and there were patches of ice so it was another inside day for us.  The weekend will be relatively warmer but then the cold comes right back on Monday.  It has not been one of our favorite winters, for sure.

Scotty attempting another bath, this time in the kitchen.  But still with a diaper on.  Which was good because it would have been a disaster again without it. But he did seem to like his bath more this time.

And a milestone was reached in the last two days!  Scotty has been smiling for Rebeca and Jason!  Look at that precious little smile!

Smile is gone here, but Rebeca says he is smiling more now when they talk to him which must feel so rewarding to them.

This isn't fair.  Looks like the weather was "no shirt needed" kind of weather there in Tucson on the very same day that we were just freezing here in San Antonio.

Little bit of sleet

Could be snow, but it looks more like sleet.  And it's not going to melt anytime soon since the temperature is below freezing with a wind chill of 17.  It is way too cold for comfort.

Guillermo has decided not to work outside on the shed today, at least until late this afternoon when the sun is forecast to peek out.  We shall see.

So, the sun never came out and the wind chill stayed in the low twenties all day.  So, it was a totally inside day for us.

6 weeks old

Scotty had his 6 week checkup on Monday.  Amazing, 6 weeks already!  He weighed in at 11 lbs. 8 oz.  His newborn clothes have long ago quit fitting him.  Today I went to the store looking for a new outfit for him and it was somewhat of a shock to have to bypass all the cute little precious little teeny little newborn clothes.  That was over with so fast and it felt a little sad.  But Guillermo is wanting Scotty to get bigger fast so that he can have a little helper in his garden again like Fernando was!  ;-)

It finally got a little cold and rainy again in Tucson!  So now Scotty can be dressed in some of his precious winter clothes, which he's probably outgrowing at this very minute.
