On our drive to Tucson, we spent one night in La Mesilla, New Mexico. We stayed at a little B & B close enough to the center of La Mesilla that we were able to walk to dinner. We found this cute little restaurant that has quite a history! It is Peppers, inside the Double Eagle restaurant. Our server showed us several rooms there which were quite ornate and very interesting!
When we arrived in Tucson, we waited for Rebeca at her house until she came to pick us up after work. Then we all went to Scotty's school to pick him up. He knew this was the plan for the day! When we arrived at the school, apparently he had just had a little fall trying to hug someone and was a little upset. When he saw the three of us walk into his classroom, he quickly forgot about being upset, got this look on his face like OH MY GOD!!!, and then quickly ran over to me and gave me the biggest hug. It was heavenly. Then he gave Guillermo a big big hug and we all felt so happy. It was the moment we had been waiting for quite a while!!!!
Here is Scotty in dinosaur slippers that Uncle Fernando gave him.
A few days later, we took this sweet boy to a place we've been taking him to eat ever since he was about a year old. Sweet Tomatoes. He sure can put away the macaroni and cheese at this place!
At the Desert Museum
This is the day we went to the zoo.
How he loved riding that train and seeing all the ducks in the water!
Enjoying the fact that the taxi wasn't being used by someone else this time at Safeway!
Gummy monster and gummy lover negotiating! It was a nightly ritual that Scotty loved!
