Shopping with the boy again today!

Today's blog is told from Scotty's point of view.
Today my Grampies took me to Costco and to Safeway - and I was a good boy at both places!
Here we are almost set to go in the store.  We had to park FAR from the entrance!

I'm in there, looking at my Abuelito pushing my stroller.

Here's what I do during the day.
When I wake up from my nap, I spend a little time in my crib watching my little aquarium.

And playing with a little toy.

After a few minutes in my crib, I get to go play in my jungle gym which, at my age, I consider my playground.

Then I'm turned over for a little bit of tummy time.  Look at me!  My arms and neck are getting so much stronger!

After tummy time, I may like to spend some time outside while my grampies water and take care of the plants on the patio.

Then my grampies usually hold me on the patio.  They might sit with me in a chair and sing songs to me or count with me.  Or they may hold me and walk me around the yard and we listen for woodpeckers or quail and we smell the roses and we feel the leaves on the hanging baskets and on the Hisbiscus plant.  I love being outside and feeling the breeze and watching my dogs act silly.

Later, we may go in and lie on the bed and read books or just spend time together doing whatever.
Here I'm getting in another tummy time!

Abuelito makes me laugh and what is special is that he only speaks to me in Spanish!

We took a walk in a nearby park later in the day.  I loved looking at all the trees and hearing the children.  Here I am watching some little girl go down a slide.

That's going to be my playground (in the background) one of these days.  I'm going to LOVE playing on that little blue hippo!

Family visiting!

Here's a picture of Rebeca relaxing with Scotty before family arrived.

Irene and Scotty had a good time together

Gloria was there, too, but somehow we missed getting a picture of her with Scotty.  Next time, for sure.

Babysitting Baby Boy

We all had a nice Saturday today.  We went to Kohls and did a little shopping there and Scotty was good up until about the time we were getting ready to check out.  He fussed just a little until Guillermo wheeled him around and around the checkout stand area while we paid for our items.

In the afternoon, Guillermo and I got to babysit Scotty while Rebeca and Jason went to a wedding mass.  After the mass, they came back home and hung around until it was time for the reception.  I'm writing this blog while they are at the reception and Scotty is fast asleep in his crib.
Pictures from our day:

It is so easy to make this little guy smile.  He is such a happy baby!

Scotty doing "tummy time" with his little tummy time pillow.

And here he's doing tummy time withOUT the pillow.  He did so good today on his tummy.  Didn't protest hardly at all and almost seemed to think it was a normal position to be in.  Not like before where as soon as you put him on his tummy without the little pillow he would howl in protest!

Grocery shopping with the boy!

Here is a picture of Guillermo, Scotty and Rebeca before she left for work today.

And a picture of Abuelito and Scotty.  How about that expression on Abuelito!!!

And here we are in the grocery store.  We braved putting Scotty in his car seat, taking him back out of the car, putting the car seat on the grocery cart, hoping against hope that he would stay happy while we shopped and all that.  And he didn't get upset really until we were checking out, so he was a good boy!
Even though we felt like Scotty was very secure in that position and Guillermo never left his side, next time we'll feel better placing him inside the basket of the cart!

It's a good day because Abuelito is here!

Guillermo left San Antonio around 6:15am and arrived in Tucson at around 4:50pm.  Now THAT is making GOOD time!
We were all so happy to see him.  I had been in Scotty's nursery and saw the Camry pull in and I couldn't believe that Guillermo was here already!!!  I waited at the front door while he got out of the car and right then Rebeca also pulls into the driveway so it was perfect timing.  She had so wanted to be here when her Dad arrived and as it turns out, she was.
As Guillermo got ready to come into the house, I went into the nursery to get Scotty who by now was awake.  So, the two of us met Abuelito at the door and what a joyous meeting it was!!!!  We were just all so happy to be together!  Here is a picture of Guillermo and Scotty shortly after he arrived.
I took 4 pictures of them, and the other 3 were much sweeter pictures but for some reason, they came out blurry.  :-(

Day 2!

Apr. 7th
Hmmm, I guess I didn't post anything about this day - my first full day taking care of Scotty by myself.  Well, the day was good although I was tired most of the day.  But Scotty is such a good baby and it is fun to read books to him, walk him around the house and yard showing him stuff, we do a little water time with his feet in a pan of water, and we try to do a little tummy time on his mat.  He also likes being on his rain forest mat and he likes being in his bouncer.
By the end of the day, though, I was pretty tired for sure.

He loves playing with his feet!

April 8th
Today was a little easier - I didn't feel as tired.  Scotty was as good as ever, though.  We did the usual stuff - walk around the backyard looking at all the plants, looking at the mountains, watching the dogs do their funny stuff, sing songs while sitting on the patio and more.  Thank goodness the weather has been warmer lately so that we can spend practically all day outside.
Rebeca put this little bib on Scotty this evening.  It's a nod to his abuelito!

Yay, the video wasn't too big, and I could upload it!  I was reading to Scotty and then playing with a kleenex with him and in the background you can hear the dog Jack making all kinds of sounds.  I don't think I've laughed harder in my life!  'Course I wasn't recording when Jack was making the most noise and I was laughing the hardest but this kind of is an example of what was going on.  Enjoy!
