We started off the morning nice and leisurely - fixed potato and eggs for breakfast and spent a relaxing time with Scotty.
Then we went out to run some errands and I stayed in the car with Scotty while Rebeca went into two places since he was asleep and we didn't want to wake him. From Kohls we went to Target. Scotty woke up while he and I were waiting in the car at Kohls so by the time we got to Target he was ready to be fed and then more than happy to get in his stroller and be wheeled around a little bit. He was such a good boy at Target - because he's a good boy anyway but he may have also sensed that he was getting some neat things for Easter!
He fell asleep on the drive home which was good because we stopped to pick up some tacos for lunch and if he had been awake, that stop might have been a little too much for him.
Back at home we started a load of clothes and I vacuumed Scotty's room. When a little later I went to go check on the clothes in the washing machine, as I was looking at the washer and seeing how it had 24 minutes on it, all of a sudden all the lights on the washer go out. I walked out of the room and noticed the lights were out on the stove, so I figured we had had a power failure. We took Scotty outside while Rebeca tried to figure out where the breaker box is and how to access it. She didn't feel like she should mess with that so she called the utility company to find out about a power outage but they never answered the phone. So, after another little while, we both went to the breaker box and had no idea how to open it. We walked around the side of the house and saw a neighbor out and found out that their power was out too. That was a relief to know it wasn't just us. Rebeca found out later that it was a pretty wide area that was going through the power failure.
We were a little concerned about how long this was going to last since Rebeca had packets of milk in the freezer to give to Scotty while she's at work. We all decided to take a nap since there wasn't anything we could do anyway. The power came back on after an hour and 15 minutes and what a nice sound that was to hear the refrigerator kick back up!
Pictures from today!
