Cold and rainy morning in Stockholm

We had a fabulous breakfast in our hotel, but it's the last morning we'll have the hotel's breakfast - too expensive.  We thought it was included in our room price, but it wasn't.  It's just as well, we can find some good little cafes around here to have breakfast for a lot less.

After breakfast we headed out to the Old Town with our umbrellas wide open looking for a tourist information center.  We saw the little restaurants we had eaten at with Fernando and Eva and got some good information from the tourist center.  Then we walked to the other end of the Old Town, crossed the bridge and walked around the sea wall until we got to a street called Strandvagen.  We wanted to walk to that street, and a few others because we had seen some apartments for rent online and we wanted to check the areas to see what they were like.  We were glad to be doing that because it got us into areas of Stockholm we ordinarily wouldn't have seen.  After stopping for a nice rest at a coffee shop and using the free wi-fi there, we took a subway to another section of the city.  It rained on and off all morning, but it wasn't bad at all.  When we got to the next section of the city called Vasastaden, it rained practically the whole time we walked around there.  A few scenes from around the city taken with the ipod since I didn't take my camera because of the rain.

After that, we took the subway back to the Old Town and found a little restaurant to have lunch at.  Then we decided to walk to the area where we thought there was a big department store, we found it and by then we were quite tired so we got back on the subway and headed back close to our hotel, stopping first at a grocery store to get some things for our supper in the hotel that evening.  After resting for a little while, we went back out.  The weather had cleared up so we took a few pictures.

They were doing some sort of show on the water.  These pictures were taken at around 9:30pm.

We continued walking and this picture shows the time on a building.  It says 9:53pm.

We took one last picture at 10:20pm before heading back to our room.
