Fernando and Eva are married!

What an exciting day!
In the morning we were very busy with many last minute things to be done!  We picked flowers out in the fields to place in the decorative backs on all the chairs.  That took quite a while!  We placed candles and put out tableware and name cards and put flowers in the windows.  Then we all went back to the house to have lunch and get ready for the ceremony.

When it was time, we all walked down to the ceremony site alongside a beautiful lake.  It was a beautiful sunny day - with a little wind blowing.  We waited and waited for Fernando and Eva to start their walk down a path that had been mowed through the meadow but all of a sudden Rebeca says, "Hmm, what's that over there?"  And much to our surprise, we saw a small object in the distance - on the lake! - and it looked like two people in a rowboat.  We couldn't believe that Fernando and Eva were arriving by rowboat!!!!  That was so special to see them arrive that way.

Couldn't upload the whole thing at once.

So below is the second half of the video which has pictures from the reception.  The reception took place in an old school house, which you will see in the first picture.

We loved the wedding - we loved being there, we loved helping Eva's family get ready for the wedding, the ceremony was very special, the reception was a lot of fun, the food at the reception was delicious and the cakes were excellent!  We could tell that Eva and her family put a lot of thought and time into planning this wedding and it showed in how smoothly everything went and in how much fun everyone had.  It was a very special day for us and a day we will always treasure.

The next day, June 22nd, Mid Summer is celebrated in Sweden.  We went to a celebration in a nearby town and again, we had perfect weather.  Mid-summer is a special celebration here where the Swedes celebrate summer which brings much appreciated warmer weather and sunnier days with plenty of light almost all day long.    Too many pictures, so they are all put into a video.

This was our last day to spend with Eva's family up in northern Sweden.  We had such a wonderful time with them and meeting their extended family!
